Perhaps it was just me, but this disappointingly felt like run-of-the-mill stuff from Herring, and I expected more. Some parts were fantastically funny - a tale about a fight in Liverpool had me in stitches - but other material just did not have any effect on the old funny bone whatsoever. Seriously Richard, the t-shirt graphic gag was never amusing - so why oh why did you keep referring back to it? Furthermore, there were occasional philosophical moments about turning 40 that were actually more interesting than the comedy was funny. Yet, when a comic has more impact with poignancy rather than with his jokes, then surely this is a bad omen.
