With three new Peter Dibdin sketches in the bag, it was time to shave off the Movember moustache (by the way the moustache, your donations and your November sub money led to me being
the 7th highest individual fundraiser for Movember - if I'd known there was a league table I would have pestered you to push me up to second where I belong).
Some people seem to genuinely like the moustache, many others (including me) saw it as ugly and comic, though I was quite impressed with how the perception of it could change depending on which character I was using it for. In the end I sort of liked it, but I was glad to let it go. But of course it couldn't go without a couple of hours of going down to the toothbrush. And it seemed fitting that the desperate madman who fronts Twitch of Fun could be persuaded to think that that was a good idea.
I spent all day on the show, but somehow was still woefully unprepared. But the improv aspect of the piece is one of its strengths, and I like the way I am now combining slightly more considered written bits (but they are done very quickly too and usually shot in one or two takes). I think it was a good enough show, but who knows?
Then the penultimate episode of Taskmaster, which I watched whilst drinking one too many beers. I had forgotten about loads of this episode, though did remember bleeding on the doorbell (how was “Blood on the Doorbell†not the title of the show?) At the time I threatened to sue the Taskmaster show for everything they had and to be made the Taskmaster for the next series, but they don't seem to have taken my threats too seriously.
It was SPOILERS another win for me in the end, largely thanks to doing well in the studio and hitting 3 or 4 points elsewhere. This is probably the best tactic overall and one of my regrets with the series is not working harder on the prize tasks. It has made me realise that I am very much the headmaster's son, trying to impress my daddy (in this case my daddy is Greg, Alex and the whole Taskmaster team) and I somehow thought getting my choices in early was more important that crafting point winning efforts. Will I regret this?

I have won four of the nine shows (and only lost another on a tie break) so I don't know how the fuck I am only two points out in front at the moment. It looks like it's between me and Daisy, though Mawann could take it with a good showing. He sort of deserves to as he has been the best lateral thinker (but for every doorbell removed from the wall there is an egg filled with helium). I have totally failed to spot any of the tricks. Amazingly in the ball task, I was suspicious that it couldn't be so easy (though also as this was the first task we did, I was aware that they might be letting us in gently) and dug down a bit into the basket and was sure I spotted a basketball so reduced my guess accordingly. Of course the opposite was true. But I don't think this task was possible to hack. Four minutes was not long enough to empty a significant amount of balls and get them back in again and it was probably safer to chuck in a guess - indeed no one who wasn't disqualified got anywhere near and still got 3 or more points.
And yeah, I know women don't wee out of their vaginas. But monsters might.
