Great gig at the Bloomsbury Theatre tonight. Stew had organised it for a charity called Kith and Kids and had put together an extremely strong bill, new and old acts, all of whom I would have paid to see, if I didn't get in free for taking part in the first place.
I think a club promoter or official show producer might have shied away from some of the comics, or at best thought they would include one or two of them, in an evening of "safer" comedy. But Stew, as organiser and compere was able to choose who he wanted and the great thing was that the audience loved it.
I did a bit from Talking Cock and apart from messing up the first joke ( a gag I've only been doing for five or so years, so you'd think I might know it by now) I had a great time. It was also the first time that Stew and me have appeared together on stage since 1999, but only as we crossed after he had introduced me.
"He wants the moon on a stick," I said as Stew left.
Amazingly, some people remembered.
