I have just found out that the Danish production of Talking Cock, "Er det størrelsen det kommer an på?" will be premiering in a place called Taastrup in Denmark next week. I knew there was going to be a Danish version, but had had no details when or where it was going to be on. Luckily, despite the late notice I am able to get across to see it, which is great, as I massively enjoyed last year's trips to continental Europe to see baffling encoded versions of my last show.
I wonder what it will be like. I wonder if they'll change everything and put comedy songs in it like they did in Belgium. I wonder what, ”Er det størrelsen det kommer an på?” actually means.
Interestingly enough as you'll see if you visit the show's website at http://www.taastrupteater.dk/ you'll see that the show is being performed by a man with the distinctly un-Danish name of Gordon Kennedy. I am pretty sure that this isn't the Gordon Kennedy of Absolutely and National Lottery fame; if it is he's had some extensive plastic surgery. He looks nice on the picture though doesn't he? The show I'll be at is on next Thursday, so if anyone is in the Taastrup area then please do come along and say hello in either Danish or English (I'm guessing the Danish for hello is just "hallo" except with an umlaut over the a and one of those funny lines through the o). It's all very exciting.
And if you live in or around London, please come along and see me at the New Ambassador's Theatre on Saturday and say hello in any language you fancy. There's been no publicity and ticket sales are poor, so try and drum up some support if you can. There's going to be an extra 20 minutes of material and I won't have to be rushing through it cos there's nothing on after me. I hope you can make it down. Ring up and book now - you know just in case. Details in the gig guide!
