A momentous morning for stone clearing as I told listeners to forget everything they had learned as we moved on to Intermediate stone clearing with Chapter 101. Some amazing rediscovered medieval music and the truth about David and Goliath are also in this packed chapter, but only listen if you have heard the first 100 episodes and then forgotten them.
Somehow I had more energy today, despite not having had much sleep and not only managed a briskish 4km run, but did a bit of work on the sitcom. I now have two scenes completed, which isn't much, but they feel like good ones and I had more ideas for the series today. As always I just wish I could do three or four hours solid writing every day - I'd get so much done - but it doesn't seem to work that way. But if I can overcome the block that stops me just sitting down and churning something (anything) out then I could get so much more done. I hate myself and everything I stand for. I know people generally think I provide a lot of content but imagine what I could do if I didn't waste 90% of my time.
There's quite a long time before I have to get these scripts in, but we're having family time in August so it's closer than it seems. And I also have another book to write.
We went to the in-laws this evening to celebrate what would have been Catie's grandad's 100th birthday (it still is, but he is not around to celebrate it, sadly). The family have some very impressive photos including one of the grandad as a baby with his dad, grandad and great grandad. Which seems sort of impossible. The oldest man in that photo must have been born around the time Queen Victoria came to the throne. Then, as a vivid illustration of ageing and death there is a photo from a few decades later where there is a new baby (Catie's dad) and everyone is looking older, apart from the eldest person from the previous photo who is mysteriously absent. What happened to him?... oh.
Eventually the baby in the first photo is the grandfather in the one with Catie as the baby, his dad now the great grandad. Sadly the run was broken as due to our generation leaving things a bit later, the baby from photo one didn't live to be great grandad in photo four, though his wife fills the great grandparent role.
These literal snapshots happening every 20 to 30 years and are a horrifying and brief flick-book of the devastation of time. But also a testament to how life goes on and a beautiful record to have of a family. The great grandparents tag teaming their great grandchildren before stepping out of the picture. I am still only a father so that means I have a couple more photos to go, right?
Right?

And non-badge scum can now get their hands on tickets for the Leicester Square theatre run of RHLSTP (but be quick - two of the first three are sold out and the first one only has about 5 tickets left)
You will kick yourself if you miss that first one (assuming the pencilled guest can definitely do it). Badgers know who it is. Why aren't you a badger?

And don't worry if you missed out on tickets - we're planning to live stream all the shows in the run. This is going to be a costly enterprise(for us- I think it will be about £10 a show for you- that's only £5 per guest- and we will do a discounted season ticket too), so your support would be appreciated. There will be more info when we have it.
