I finished working my way through the line edit by midday. I suspect a couple of little bits might bounce back to me, but we're basically there. It's a very good feeling. As always I can't quite remember how I got this thing from no-hope-of-ever-finishing to complete. But here we are. Thanks to the book-writing elves.
Writing is Hell, but finishing writing is Heaven and that's how they suck you back in.
It's good. I think.
The audio book of The Problem With Men is now available to preorder here (as is the book and ebook, which will also be available at other outlets)
I worked my way through the papers for my serious newspaper review Twitch stream and then drove to Welwyn Garden City to see if I could get my broken unbreakable glasses mended. I wore a mask. It didn't seem to be a big deal, but I understand others feel like it is ruining their lives. It's not yet compulsory, but it was maybe 50/50 on mask or no mask.
The glasses are in warranty. They're going to give me a new pair, but I thought I'd managed my time brilliantly by buying these in London when I had a spare couple of hours, but this means the replacement has to come from that store too and they're not open right now.
Never try and manage your time efficiently. It'll just mean you end up wasting time later on.
Forgot I have a video meeting in the late afternoon, but had just got home and managed to jump aboard. It is so brilliant being able to do this kind of stuff on line. I feel like I will never have to leave the house again, even when I am allowed to. There have been a few benefits to lockdown (but I may have forgotten how tough it was before we were allowed any help with the child care), but remote meetings is maybe the best one. I only got my glasses in London cos I was in town for some meeting that I could easily have done from home. Think of all the travel money and time we are going to save in the future.
Also without lockdown then I can't imagine I would have started what is definitely going to be the greatest comedy show of all time, Ally and Herring's Twitch of Fun. It was episode 3 tonight and we covered Prince Andrew, Trump's senility, the cursed life of the vent dummy and one of the top thousand funniest Marmite lids of all time. Plus we workshopped some songs. This is jut going to grow and grow. Get in on the ground floor and watch them now.
