Home schooling until March 8th? And maybe longer. Why God, Why? What have I ever done to you? If we were meant to spend this much time with our kids God would have made them dependent on us until they were teenagers. It's not natural.

Oh I finished my jigsaw by the way, so anyone who says I've wasted my life is going to look a bit silly.

I also made an amazing dinner of black-eyed beans with onions and tofu (too a punt on that cos we didn't have any mushrooms) with celeriac and potato mash. Yeah, looks like you should have married me after all (addressed to everyone in the world apart from my wife, who may be thinking that as good as this meal was, it might not be enough to make up for all the negatives). What I particularly enjoyed about this meal was that I managed to cook it in about four sessions, dotted throughout the day, when I wasn't working or homeschooling or stopping my son killing himself. Am I allowed to retire at 53?

The weird thing about these lockdown RHLSTPs is that half an hour before I do them I feel quite negative and  sometimes annoyed that I have to do them. But five minutes in my mood is pretty much always transformed and by the end I have had the time of my life. Yet every week I seem to go through the same process. I suppose it's partly nerves, but might also come from getting a bit frayed round the edges as I haven't had a break from my quite relentless self-imposed work schedule since early August. And I am currently at the point where we don't have any podcasts in the tank (tonight's show goes out as a podcast next Wednesday). My upcoming double RHLSTP gig at the Clapham Grand (live-streamed so you can watch anywhere in the world, for £7 a show, but it's very cool that this will mean the venue hopefully makes some money - me too, I guess.  Book here! Nish Kumar at 5pm and Lou Sanders at 6.45pm) will mean that I am a couple of weeks ahead again and can maybe take a break. But with homeschooling back on the agenda it's going to be difficult to keep up this intensity of Twitching if I have any writing to do.
Anyway, tonight was a prime example of me being low beforehand and then immediately becoming energised once the cameras were on. It was instantaneous and I ridiculous. And it helped that my guest was the hilarious, unique and actually properly a little bit crazy Ashley Storrie. She was a delight and the time flew by. And of course, I wasn't tired after it was over.
How can I feel deflated beforehand. It's the best job in the world.

I was on two channels of the internet simultaneously as my pre recorded interview with Colin Murphy for the Belfast Out To Lunch Festival was being played at the same time. Well done if you watched both simultaneously.
