There were 17,000 new podcasts created every month in 2020. That's cool, but I only did 16,995 new ones a month. Who did the other five? Back off. This is my terrain.

After a fortnight where I've been in a bit of a blur of tiredness and stress I had a day of clarity and managed to get a Peter Dibdin sketch written this morning. There's things in it that I like as a writer that I am not comfortable with as a performer, but the writer me keeps on doing stuff to humiliate the performer me and the performer me never quits, so I guess he secretly likes it.
I do need to sit down and think about what I want to get out of 2021 and which projects I should prioritise, but until Phoebe is back at school it's going to be pretty hard to get up any head of steam. Is my puppet show a stupid distraction when I could be doing something more worthwhile in terms of career, art and finance?
NO IT IS NOT. IT IS THE GREATEST THING EVER.
You'll be saying stone clearing is a waste of time next.
What's wrong with you!?

Talking of wasting the precious gift of life, I played two more frames in the first round of self-playing snooker tonight, with possibly some of the worst snooker and refereeing we have yet seen. It went on for maybe 80 minutes in the end. But we have two more players (on somewhat controversially) into the second round and hardly any of the ones that I actually like have made it, proving that I am not biased when playing. Or perhaps proving that I have instituted a bias against my favourite players. I wish I was good enough to give one player the edge, but I am not getting any better at the sport. To be fair I don't get any time on the old green board with all these other Mes hogging it. It will all be up on youtube and as a podcast on Tuesday if you missed the incredible action. The greatest sporting event of all time? It's not for me to say. But it is though.
