Seven down, three to go. Somehow I managed to get a script done, though we did write the three celebrity endorsements between 7.45 and 8.03pm (the show was meant to start at 8, but we went on at five past). I was hoping the audience might have been getting a bit larger by now, but it was only a few people up on last week and a little under half full. It will be interesting to see how the finances work out at the end. But there are only three more chances to see the thing live, and you people at home miss out on 15 minutes of warm up, plus being able to have a drink with us after the gig. So come on down if you can and let's see if we can make it worthwhile doing another run next year. I am hopeful that we can. Even though it is almost unbearably stressful getting this thing together every week.
But it's lots of fun once we get into the theatre. The audience who joined in were particularly crazy this week, but in a good way I hope and led to some fun. And Dan brought in a fun family friendly version of a cumpkin - a pumpkin filled with Haribos (which were in a plastic bag inside so untainted by pumpkin juice) - I don't know if he had cum in it as well. There is no telling with him.
I think I am going to miss the gang once this craziness is over, but I will be glad to get my weekends back. Luckily this week isn't quite as crazy as last, so I am really looking forward to sitting on my sofa in my dressing gown all day tomorrow, watching Battlestar Galactica and playing Countdown and pretending Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman are my friends.
It was disconcerting to see how big a laugh my line about this series being the longest suicide note in history got. But if you want to experience it for yourself then you can download here or via iTunes and read the ther rehearsal script here. Luckily we cut quite a bit before recording as we ended up doing around about an hour as it was.
