Friday 18th December 2009

I am really relaxing down to Christmas and it's cool to now have nothing but the Robin Ince gigs to do now. Things have been a little busy. I am pretty much done with work until 16th January, when the Hitler Moustache machine will jolt back into action. And that's going to be the start of a somewhat busy three to six months, so I should make the most of this down time.
So I slept in until almost midday and then watched a film and the first episode of the Wire season 5. I also got in most of the final episode of the latest Curb Your Enthusiasm season, but annoyingly Sky+ had cut it off with about 15 minutes to go, so I didn't get to see the denouement. Technology can let us down.
I also played a lot of Yahtzee on my iPhone which is my new mini-obsession, which I can lose myself in for hours. The simple games are the ones that hook me and though there is an element of skill it is mainly just rolling (imaginary) dice around and getting lucky. But I am trying to override the element of chance by using psychic ability to influence the rolls. And it seems I am getting pretty good at it. When I really concentrate and especially if I click my fingers on crucial rolls I feel that I am able to make the number I want appear on one of the dies. I have got it so that about 1 in 6 times the number I want it to be is coming up. Which is pretty impressive. And with work I hope that I can improve on that. Because if I could start to influence dice or cards with my mind then I could become quite the gambler. So I will keep working at it. And the more I believe I can do it, the sooner I will be eligible to appear on Deal or No Deal. But that takes a special kind of psychic ability, because the boxes are all noted beforehand so if you manage to influence what's in your own box with your mind then that will be really impressive.
It was good to be taking part in a gig for rationalists after spending a good part of my day trying to control the world with my brain. But religion and science both have imagination at their birth and take a leap of faith to move onwards.
See how good I am. Roll a die now. I am going to use my brain to influence it. It's going to be a 3. Let me know if I was right. And I think a good proportion of you are going to be quite impressed with my newly discovered power.
