Got my over 50s NHS flu shot today. But had been distracted with work - got two more Peter Dibdin sketches written today and am really enjoying fleshing out the character whilst making nods to his past glories (next one should be in Twitch of Fun on Thursday as long as we get it all recorded and edited in time - we will)- and a phone call from my manager (a rare occurrence, but with some good news if you like the idea of me having to write a load more stuff- which I don't particularly) and got a text about 6 mins after my appointment was meant to be telling me I'd missed it. I ran downstairs and up the road and arrived at the doctors just 10 minutes late and they were all cool about it. So old and decrepit that I get singled out for a flu jab, but so sprightly that I can sprint downstairs and hundreds of metres in 4 minutes. The operation took less than sixty seconds in and out and I hoped that my raised pulse rate wouldn't cause the flu vaccine to mutate into a new disease that ravages mankind. I am no scientist, but that seems possible. And that's enough these days, right?

I also had an electric car delivered. Not for me to keep, but just to try out so I can talk about it on a podcast advert. The man parked it in my neighbour's spot and they were waiting for their daughter to turn up so were keen for me to move. It took me a while to work out how to make the automatic gears work. I managed to move forwards but couldn't work out how to move it into reverse and got trapped in the middle of the road. This was all my fault rather than the car's and I was panicking as there was traffic waiting, but then the lever worked and I managed to escape. It would have been bad to break the car after five minutes. It should be easy enough to work out what I am doing when I am not being pressurised by inconveniencing others. I am not sure when I'll get a chance to use it as it's a bit of a busy week, but I will find some time. Nice to have a perk like this, I guess, but also slightly inconvenient. Like getting a writing job that will turn out to be loads of stress and hard work.
Will I never be happy?
I am very happy.
Also got in another two matches in the preliminary round of the snooker. It's another crossover ep as you can see from the picture. You can listen here or watch here. It's all go at the moment, with another acting job tomorrow, that I turned out to have no time to prepare for. But it's a relaxed online process so I think we'll be OK. After 31 years in the business I am finally in demand. Though admittedly it's still myself creating most of the demand for me!
